HELLO! HAVE WE MET?

I’m Alice Benham (but most people call me AB!), I’m a 24 year old with the eating habits of a toddler and the only ‘proper job’ I’ve ever had is managing elves in a Christmas Grotto!

I have the total privilege of spending my days working alongside entrepreneurs who have incredible vision and goals but crave an injection of expertise and support in getting there.

I’m passionate about growth (of course) but I’m equally passionate about achieving that growth in a way that is sustaianable and aligns with your values. Because who said strategies couldn’t feel good, as well as doing good?

My core Values

Impactful

Striving to be the best strategist and educator I can be, whether that’s within 1:1, courses, programmes or free content, I commit to keeping my expertise up to date and relevant, partaking in regular supervision, asking for and actioning feedback on all offerings and enrolling in courses and trainings where beneficial.

TRANSPARENT

Keen to make the world of business a more accessible and honest place, I commit to sharing openly about my experience of running this business and any learnings that come with it, use honest and clear messaging within my marketing and be open about the way my business is run.

PLAYFUL

A big believer that word business doesn’t have to mean boring, I commit to showing up as my authentic (hello buzz word) self, giving clients and students a fun and interactive experience in order to make working ON your business as joyful as possible.

KIND

Using kindness as a tool to encourage a more accessible industry, I commit to putting no limit on the expertise shared via free content, giving up my time for free services to charities and offering scholarship places on each of my programmes and courses.

The Story so Far...

After leaving school early at 16 for a job managing elves (true story!) I was offered a freelance contract as a social media manager. I was ready for a challenge and knew I had something to bring so said yes, threw myself in and somewhat accidentally became a business owner age 17.
— 2016
Due to saying yes to everything that came my way, working a LOT of hours managing social media accounts and not having much of a community around me, burnout quickly caught up with me. I spent 6 months off work getting back to centre before feeling ready to re-enter the world of business, in a more sustainable and joyful way. I loved marketing but not the management side, so I began working as a marketing strategist.
— 2017
With the ‘marketing strategist’ stake in the ground, it was time to grow! It took a little longer than it had the first time around but after launching my podcast in Feb 2018 and *very* slowly building traction, I learned the power of building community, creating strong foundations and staying consistent.
— 2018
A big year of evolution for the business! I hosted my first Gather & Grow retreat in spring (so incredible!), brought on my first ever team member Emily and at the end of the year, had launched my very first group programme which sold out in days, after working 1:1 for years.
— 2019
After lockdown changes quite a few plans (goodbye to retreats and events!) I doubled down on my 1:1 work, refined the foundations of my business as I continued to bring more business strategy into my work and launched my first product range at the end of the year. Also an exciting year personally as I moved out of home and into my own house!
— 2020
After officially bringing ‘business’ into the title alongside marketing strategist, I took another month off (something I started in 2020 and loved!), switched up my team to fit the businesses needs, begun hosting events again and VERY excitingly launched my new business - On Paper.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION POLICY

I’m committed to creating a business which is welcoming, safe and supportive for all people and am keen to play my role in making the industry I’m in a more diverse and inclusive place. These are the actions I am taking as a business owner of which I welcome any correction or feedback…

  • I will not speak on panels, feature on podcasts or host workshops where my perspective as a white, able-bodied woman are overrepresented

  • I will continue to diversify the voices and perspectives shared via my podcast

  • I will donate my time to charities supporting underrepresented women in business and mentoring schemes

  • I will offer scholarship places within each coaching intake, group programme and retreat, favouring those from marginalised backgrounds

  • I will explore the businesses I pay, collaborate with and promote to understand their diversity and inclusion practices

  • I will grow a team who bring different perspectives to mine
